Although Drew has been swimming for weeks now, this is really the first week the pool has been warm enough to really get into! So, we spent the weekend swimming and it was a GREAT one! Addie has never liked water...we've battled with bathtime and she has come to be ok with that. Ok being the word here....so we've tried swimming the last couple weeks and she was not having it. She wouldn't swim at all last summer either...which is crazy to me because I think you have to be in water in order to survive the Yuma summers!!! Well, this weekend we put her in the baby pool and she liked it....I then used a watering can and added more water and she liked it even BETTER!! Seeing that she was so content, I decided to try for the big pool...I put her on the first step and she did ok... well, until she wanted to cruise the wall and didn't quite catch on that the step wasn't all the way around. Then we tried a float...this was Drew's 1st float (which you can probably tell by the pictures it has seen better days (years)) And she LOVED it!! She kicked around the pool for about an hour...It was the best day!! To celebrate we bought her a new float that won't cave in on top of her as she swims :)
Here is the baby pool we got her last weekend...she wasn't too crazy about it last weekend. Saturday she loved it and by Sunday she had mastered climbing out of it!
