Drew's Growing up WAY TOO FAST
Actually took some pics of Drew they other day (doesn't happen very often these days, mostly because he doesn't sit still long enough :) But I told them we had to take some pictures to start planning his Thomas birthday party (which he requested I start about a week ago) So, he sat and I got a few that I liked ok! I can't believe how big he looks... where does the time go?

D-backs game!
Just for you Avery :) Had a great time with you guys... I will email you these pics soon, but here they are for now!
Pics from the Eller Heart Center D-backs game... Good cause, good friends, good times:) And a long ride home! I was getting a hard time for being such a camera freak, but got some good pictures!
Most are of Drew and his good buddy, Benson.... and Addie and her heart friend, Bela! They are all SO cute together! I love it!
Proof that miracles do happen! Addie, Mark and Bela... Heart friends forever! I love these kids SO much!
It was a long day and we were both SO tired, we let the kids drive home :)

Prayers...
To All of Our Wonderful Friends and Family,
Please say an extra prayer for Baby Ethan and his family today. Early this morning, Ethan lost his battle with HLHS, but won the hearts of many during his 6 months stay on this Earth. We are better people because he, and his family, have enriched our lives. Ethan is no longer in pain... He is a hero and will be missed tremendously.

GRATEFUL
....for my son who somehow slips into what he calls "our bed" in the middle of every night (about 3am, he jumped in between us and I said "You need to go sleep in YOUR bed" and he replied immediately with "I think I just want to sleep in OUR bed tonight"... gotta love him) .... that often times you can't see our carpet through all the legos, trains and dinosaurs.... for having wonderful family and friends and a great support system......and for the fact that we have been given the opportunity to watch Addie grow and that she has been given this chance... even though I do get frusterated when Addie won't eat and Drew is literally climbing the walls, I am grateful that they are both here.
Through this experience, I have learned of too many people who have not been given the chances we have. I get frusterated, but never forget how much we have been given. I try not to think about what is next and sometimes I think that comes across wrong.... I'm not sure if it's denial or just the concept of living in the now, but it is the way I've dealt with it all I guess. We do appreciate everything and do thank everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers... We are honored to be able to share Addie's story of great success and will gladly answer any questions! Thank you ALL for being such an important part of our lives! We LOVE you!

Addie's Battle with the Box of Cheez-Its
...looks like yet another battle she has won!!!! And just after a bath too! She's been 17+ lbs for 2 days now!! Yay! Have no fear, she will puke the entire 24 hours before her next cardio appt and all will be lost :)

Addie's First Year
I was going through pictures of Addie's first year of life! Here are a few of the pics I came across... Scary!
High Chairs and Bathtime and Choneys (sp)...oh my!
Our kids are growing and changing everyday! It's CRAZY! Yesterday we went to eat and Addie actually sat in the high chair. She loved it and spent the entire time dropping everything she possibly could onto the floor so we could pick it up for her (only so she could drop it again :) I , of course, took a picture of her first high chair experience!!!
The kids got some new bath towels from MeMe... here they are sporting them after their baths. Aren't they ADORABLE little animals?
Drew has been great at using the potty which has landed him with about 20 pair of Thomas choneys! He loves wearing them... yea!
The other night, we walked into the room to see Addie and Drew laying face to face on the floor holding hands. So cute, the picture doesn't do it justice, but oh it was cute!

First of all, I have to say that I just walked outside and it's actually kind of chilly! Those of you who live in places other than Yuma (and probably a large group of people who live here as well) would think I was crazy, but I was a little cold! We can just say, when I opened the front door this morning I felt a nice, fresh breeze instead of a a feeling similar to when you open your oven door after baking potatoes at 400 degrees for and hour and a half!!!! I just had to document this being that it is only the beginning of August and 7:00 in the morning is a tolerable time to go outside!!!
Okay, so for those of you who don't read this blog for the 7am Yuma Weather Report, I will talk about my crazy children! Yes, they are crazy! First off we are working on potty training, so that's the constant talk around the house. Drew's doing very well with it, actually, and all it costs us is a Thomas train every time he goes #2! I actually think diapers may end up being cheaper in the long run! BUT the Thomas creators are brilliant and they get the adults hooked. We sat with a box of trains as rewards forever and I think both Drew and us were equally excited for him to get them. We'd say "Drew are you sure you don't need to poop in the potty, don't you want Daisy, come on you really want Daisy!!!" It drove us nuts to have those packaged trains in the cabinet!!!
However, what nobody warned me about, is that potty training (combined with his new favorite movie, The Jungle Book) has its downfalls. For example, Drew has decided it is much easier to get right on the toilet without having to take off his pants or diaper. He's also decided that it is impossible to potty with a shirt on, so you got it, he runs around the house naked 90% of the day! Last night we had some friends over and every time we'd look over, Drew would be standing at the train table with no pants and no diaper. We did manage to keep the shirt on! Like I said, CRAZY!
Addie's become pretty efficient at rolling to get anywhere she wants to be. You turn your back for a second and she's gone...Yesterday we found her by the front door which means she rolled around tables and couches and through an archway to get there, all in less that 30 seconds!
So, maybe this is the "normal" life I've been waiting 16 months for... Who knows? Addie is doing really well, but totally failed the test when I decided she may not really need Zantac anymore. I'm always looking for ways to eliminate meds, so we ran out and I thought, "Why not?" After about a day without the Zantac she started vomiting up everything I put in her mouth (which by the way was as I was talking with my friend, Avery, (who's daughter has a heart defect like Addie and very similar behaviors) that Addie's been so good on the diet I've been giving her! She loves to make a liar out of me! So, we refilled our Zantac and she's doing MUCH better! She's still eating just small amounts by mouth, but it's still a huge improvement to where we were before!
Anyway, here are a couple pictures we took at the new pool here yesterday. It's a pretty cool place and the kids had fun!

Some Pics and a D-backs Fundraiser
Addie is still doing well with the g-tube and seems pretty comfortable... We can't get over how much better she's eating since we are not shoving that darn NG down her nose and throat. Still not eating even close to enough to survive, but making progress. Even letting us touch her mouth (face) is progress. Our goals are small now, but hopefully we'll slowly start overcoming huge obstacles.
Saturday August 22 @ 3:30pm. Come have a dinner picnic on the field, run the bases, tour the dugouts, get tickets for a 2009-2010 game, professional pictures. . . ALL INCLUDED while watching the Diamondbacks and Houston Astros game live on the jumbo-tron! We are selling tickets to this event to help raise money for the Heart Center at St. Joes. The Diamondbacks foundation will donate $20,000 to the Eller Heart Program at St. Joe's. Tickets are Adult $45, Children over 3 are $35. If you are interested in attending this, please let me know by Friday August 7th and I will get you tickets. Email me at staceytams@yahoo.com for more info.
